A new solar pumping system that brings energy savings to farmers
This case study by Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CFEC) looks at how a Darling Downs farmer was able to save on their energy bills by installing a solar powered pumping system that can be controlled through a mobile phone.
Through the NAB Energy Efficient Bonus program, Don Baartz was able to install a solar powered system that operated his bore pump. This system not only cut energy costs but allowed the farm to earn an additional $5,000 by exporting the surplus power generated by the new system.
