Here are some answers to some of our most common questions related to our Energy Advice service.

What is the Business Energy Advice Program?

It is a free energy advisory program run by Australian Business, a division of the NSW Business Chamber Limited and funded by the Australian Government. The service delivers consultations via face-to-face and phone to help small businesses across Australia discover industry specific energy saving opportunities and propose options for small business to help manage their energy. The service also gives small business free access to information available online including case studies, fact sheets, and information on how businesses can access government grants.

Who is eligible for advice?

Small businesses with between 6 and 20 employees qualify for free tailored energy advice delivered via face-to-face and phone. All businesses, regardless of their size, will still be able to access information online for free via this advisory service.

Why is it free?

The Business Energy Advice Program is funded by the Australian Government and delivered by Australian Business, a division of the NSW Business Chamber Limited.

Who is the NSW Business Chamber?

Where is NSW Business Chamber located?

The NSW Business Chamber head office is located on Level 15, 140 Arthur Street, North Sydney.

Where are face to face consultations available?

Face to face consultations are currently only available in metro and regional New South Wales. We will provide updates when this service becomes available in other areas.

How long will the consultation take?

The duration of the consultation will vary depending on the advice being sought. We expect consultations to take approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

What is Energy Efficiency?

Energy efficiency means using less energy to achieve the same outcomes and help reduce energy costs. You might find energy efficiencies by changing energy purchasing contracts, switching fuels, using renewable energy, and/or using battery storage.

What is the Retail Energy market?

Energy retail markets are the interface between retailers and customers. They allow energy retailers to sell electricity, gas and energy services to residential and business customers.
